We have a cosy guests’ sitting room where the kettle is always on the boil and there is home made cake in the tin for tea, or any time of day that may suit! Aga cooked breakfasts with eggs from our own chickens ensure a delicious start to the day. Click here for full dining information.
Although the house has a completely rural setting, it is just a twenty minute stroll to the local shop in the village of Bradfield. Our local pub in Bradfield serves decent food and takes just 15 minutes to stroll to and is a popular destination in the summer evenings.
Also we are lucky enough to have at least 6 recommended eating places to suit all tastes and budgets within a ten minute drive...we are very happy to point you in the right direction
We are also just one hour by train to London (Liverpool Street) from Manningtree Station (5 miles from here).
There is plenty to see and do on the Essex/Suffolk border and we are well placed for short or long stays for those who want to enjoy the unique atmosphere of the Suffolk villages just across the border and also the historic features of Colchester (the oldest recorded town in England) as well as Beth Chatto’s Garden, Constable Country and the wonderful beaches along our coastline.
